2. First day in College

 " Dont you think you have applied more make-up? ", quipped Mom.

" No Ma, this is bare minimum. Just little kajal and light shade for lips. You are worrying too much. Let's go Papa, it's already time". Anjali said with excitement.

" You keep the phone in silent mode and call me immediately after your class is over. Papa will send someone to pick you up today. Visit the registration office and get your name registered for college bus service. Don't forget to get all books required for your first semester from library. " Mom started her planning.

Anjali rolled her eyes and looked at Papa.

"Ma , stop worrying about everything. College has shared the information brochure about all process and we will do it as per that. I don't even have library card yet. How can I get books? Let me speak to the librarian about the books availability and I will get them. " Anjali replied.

" OK, you are big girl now but you must be responsible too. Choose your friends wisely and be more attentive to professors. ". 

Ma continued her lecture as Anjali kept rolling her eyes.

" Here we are !! Your college!! Papa saved Anjali from further lectures from her mom.

" Bye Ma !! Bye Papa !! I will call you in lunch break. "  

Anjali tidied her dress and walked to her college gate. She was still having those butterflies in her stomach. Swarm of parents, students and guardians were near the gate being welcomed by college faculty. She walked to the registration office and stood in the queue for registration. Few seniors were already standing in excitement to start the old college ritual of ragging. The energy in the campus was electrifying and contagious at the same time. 

As her registration was completed, Anjali had already befriended 3 of her classmates. They were from same area as her and it were going to use the same bus service. Holding the class schedule in hands and wide-eyed, all 4 of them started walking around the campus.

All freshers were asked to go to college Auditorium for their welcome event. 

P.S :  Anjali had already caught attention of few people who were excited to know her more closely.
